Assalaamulaikum (Peace Be With You) brothers, sisters, family and friends,

RMDT Partner with Muslim Aid Australia to Support Vanuatu.  In the wake of Cyclone Pam, RMDT have joined Muslim Aid Australia to support the people of Vanuatu who have been severely affected by Cyclone Pam.  Taufil Omar who heads up the Ecology and Relief efforts of Rasheed Memorial Trust spent a week surveying the impacts the cyclone has had in the region and meeting some of the local community.

Brother Taufil made the following report from the ground,

“Food delivered to 40 families (literally) in Port Vila, Ereko, Fresh Water, Mele and a few others! Masha Allah! Also 60 families in Tanna! No one spared who were in need and needed immediate relief! The government apparently started moving food today as well! We were for some families in remoter parts the very first group to deliver food! Some hadn’t had much for 2 weeks.”

Muslim Aid Australia and RMDT are creating a plan to direct support financially and practically to the most affected people.  Please join us in supporting their efforts, in prayer and also if you’d like to contribute financially see the details on the Vanuatu Cyclone Pam Appeal page.
